A erupção do Vesúvio aconteceu em 79 d.C e destacou-se como uma das mais destruidoras da história da humanidade.
Espalhou-se uma densa nuvem ardente ao longo de 30 Km ,que fez com que perdessem a vida 16 mil pessoas nas cidades de Pompeias e Herculano, pois ficaram soterradas de cinzas e a temperatura nessas cidades chegou ao 700 graus.
A erupção durou 2 dias.
Hoje, a região de Pompéia e Herculano faz parte de um Parque Arqueológico. As visitas custam 11 euros e acontecem durante o ano todo.

The eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79 happened and stood out as one of the most destructive in human history.
Spread a thick cloud burning over 30 km, which caused them to lose the 16 000 people living in the cities of Herculaneum and Pompeias because ashes were buried in these cities and temperatures reached the 700 degrees.
